Sakhu

Phuket

Sakhu is a tranquil corner of the island where you can enjoy the beauty of nature and the cosy atmosphere of local village life. The area is characterised by a leisurely pace, perfect for those who want to slow down a little in the rush of modern city life. Nai Yang Beach, surrounded by pine forests and coconut groves, attracts tourists with its unspoilt beauty, soft sand and opportunities for swimming and snorkelling. With the Sirinat National Park in close proximity, Sakhu has become a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.

The Sakhu area is great for a relaxed family holiday, offering many cosy cafes, restaurants and small shops. The area is dominated by secluded hotels and private villas that appeal to those seeking privacy and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the larger resorts. The local community is full of cultural flavour and shows the real spirit and life of Phuket, allowing you to plunge into them.

Developed infrastructure

  • Supermarkets: 7-Eleven, Tesco Lotus
  • Restaurants: Phen's Restaurant, Nai Yang Seafood.
  • Institutions: Thalang Hospital, Phuket International Academy
  • Cultural Centres: Nai Yang Beach, Sirinat National Park

The Sakhu region is particularly valued for its natural treasures, with something to suit everyone's tastes.

Nai Yang Beach is about 3 km long and has a wide coastline — it is protected by a coral reef, so there are no strong waves or dangerous currents throughout the year — a good choice for those who prefer swimming or holidaying with children. Part of Sirinat National Park, Nai Yang is ideal for long walks, picnics and relaxing coastal holidays.

Nai Thon beach, on the other hand, is more suited to surfing as it often has high waves and rough currents. There is also a seafront promenade along the shoreline with many shops, lounges and shops.

Restaurants in the area are dominated by fresh seafood dishes, attracting foodies who like to sample the authentic flavours of Thai cuisine. In addition, Sakhu is often home to local festivals and markets, which allow you to delve deeper into the culture of the region.

Attractions and natural sites

  • Sirinat National Park - A national park with extensive mangrove forests and beautiful beaches where giant turtles can be found.
  • Wat Sakhu is a Buddhist temple which is a place for meditation and quiet relaxation.

Transport accessibility

Sakhu is just 5 minutes from Phuket International Airport, making it one of the most convenient areas for those who travel frequently. Due to its proximity to the 4026 motorway, the area is well connected to the rest of the island, including popular resort areas in the west such as Mai Khao and Layan. The drive to Phuket city centre takes approximately 40 minutes by car.
