On Phuket, a double-decker sightseeing bus service has been launched

On October 20, 2026, City Sightseeing Phuket: Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour was officially launched in Phuket — a double-decker sightseeing bus connecting the island’s main points. Below is an overview of the route and why this is good news for residents and investors.

What has been launched and who is behind it

The project is a joint initiative: local operator Elephant Go Go Phuket has teamed up with the Spanish brand City Sightseeing (a global leader in hop-on hop-off tours) and the Central Phuket shopping mall. The format is familiar from major European cities: you can get off at any stop, spend as much time as you like exploring, and board the next bus using the same ticket.

Route: 11 stops

The route covers 11 key locations, including:

  • Central Phuket Floresta — the starting point; buses depart from here;
  • Old Town Phuket — known for its Sino‑Portuguese architecture, cafes, and markets;
  • Sapan Hin — the waterfront and historic part of the city;
  • Kiew Tian Keng Chinese Temple;
  • Wat Chalong — the island’s main temple;
  • Hanuman World — a jungle-themed amusement park;
  • King Power Phuket.

Buses depart from Central Phuket Floresta every hour between 10:00 and 16:00. A full loop takes approximately 2–2.5 hours. The bus has 40 seats, with both open-air and covered areas. An audio guide is available in 8 languages: Thai, English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean. Real‑time GPS tracking helps passengers plan their route without having to wait.

Pricing

24‑hour ticket: adult — 1,200 RUB, child (for children aged 6–12 or under 150 cm tall) — 600 RUB.

48‑hour ticket: adult — 1,500 RUB, child (for children aged 6–12 or under 150 cm tall) — 750 RUB.

The ticket allows passengers to get on and off at any stop during its validity period.

Why this matters for property buyers

For us at Jungle House, this is a significant development in two ways.

For everyday life. Phuket’s urban infrastructure has long lagged behind the beach areas: thousands of expats live in the Old Town and surrounding areas, but getting to shopping malls, temples, and the waterfront without a car has been inconvenient. Now, those living in rentals without a vehicle have access to a proper urban transport option.

For investors. The launch is timed to coincide with the high season, and this is no coincidence: the provincial authorities are clearly aiming to encourage tourists to spend more time in the city, not just on the beaches. More time spent in the city means higher revenue for hotels, cafes, and local operators — and therefore, a stable rental demand for apartments in areas north of the Old Town, near Central Phuket.
