Russians took second place in purchasing real estate in Thailand
According to the Thailand Real Estate Information Centre, from January to September this year, a total of 10,700 properties worth 52.3 billion baht ($1.5 billion) were sold in the kingdom. This is 38% more than a year earlier. Chinese buyers purchased almost 5 thousand housing units, that is, they made about 47% of the total number of transactions worth 24.7 billion baht ($710 million). Foreigners mainly bought property in Bangkok, as well as in the resort provinces of Chonburi and Phuket.
"Thai condominiums continue to be in demand among foreign buyers for both investment and permanent residence purposes," said Real Estate Information Center acting director Wichai Viratakaphan.
